Instructors

Peggy G. Normandin, LMT, Stott Pilates Certified is the owner of the Bodydynamics studio and has an extensive background in anatomy and physiology with a keen insight about how the body works in motion.  She spent 10 years studying Modern Dance and Ballet.  She was a student at the famed Margaret Jenkins Dance Co. in San Francisco, and her Modern Dance teachers included the internationally known Bill Evans in Seattle and New York based Clay Tagliaferro of the Jose Limon Dance Co.  Upon her arrival to the east coast, she danced with and choreographed for the Rhode Island Dance Repertory Company.  Her love of movement and her interest in health and physical vitality lead her to Pilates. Peggy studied Stott Pilates in Boston, MA and became certified in 2002.  Body Dynamics was the first established Pilates Studio in northern Rhode Island.

Teaching Pilates for over 15 years has given Peggy the chance to combine her interest in fitness, well-being, continued health and movement. Peggy believes that we are all meant to move and that Pilates offers the perfect form of functional fitness as well as strength and balance. Pilates enables us to move youthfully and engage in life activities with vigor!

Peggy continues to pursue her interests and expand her knowledge in Pilates, Yoga, anatomy and healing therapies.


Amy Aleksiewicz 

Amy fell in love with Pilates over 15 years ago, while earning her MA in Elementary Education. After teaching in the classroom and becoming a mother, she decided to pursue her passion, completing her STOTT Intensive Matwork, Reformer and Barre training in the Spring of 2013. Amy loves using her experience in education to encourage each client to expand the boundaries of his or her potential in a fun, challenging environment.

 


Lisa Benoit

Lisa Benoit, began exercising as a teenager when she was diagnosed with scoliosis and put in a back brace. She discovered spinning and pilates as the perfect combination for her back pain. Once she became certified in both she needed a way to work more resistant training and fell in love with TRX. TRX is total body resistance training that develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. TRX is suitable for people all of ages and fitness levels, you simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance. TRX is a great compliment to your pilates practice.

 


Sheramy Turcotte

Sheramy Keegan-Turcotte began her Pilates training in a quest to strengthen her dancing body. After falling in love with Pilates and the way it had changed her body, she decided to pursue Pilates teaching certification. Sheramy was certified in Pilates Mat through the Kelly Kane School of Core Integration in New York City and was Equipment trained through Half Moon Pilates in Brooklyn. Sheramy has taught Pilates mat and equipment classes throughout New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and London, UK.

In addition to teaching Pilates, Sheramy is also a dancer. She holds a Master of Science in Dance Science from the Laban Centre for Dance in London, UK, as well as a BFA in Dance Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory and an AA in Dance from Dean College. She has performed nationally and internationally with companies such as Jana Hicks and Dancers, Noemie LaFrance’s SENS Production, Isabel Gotskowsky and Friends, and Jane Franklin Dance among others. She is currently performing and teaching with FusionWorks Dance Company.

When she is not teaching or dancing, Sheramy enjoys playground dates, museum trips and camping with her husband Neil and their four boys, Simon, Keegan, Ezra and Baylen.


Katie Vincent

Katie has a strong background in Personal Training, Group Fitness, TRX and Pilates. Katie brings tremendous energy and entusiasum to all of her classes, inspiring her students.
