Testimonials

Peggy is a miracle worker!

I have worked with many exercise practitioners and physical therapists over the years and find Peggy’s expertise to be extraordinarily valuable.
I have benefited from her individual Pilates instruction, massage therapy and group classes. She’s helped me recover from injuries and to develop a home practice.
I came to Peggy with a running injury a few years ago, on the recommendation of a friend after having no luck with other professionals. Working one on one and using massage Peggy got me back to running and even sprinting. Last year I returned with another running injury and after two visits, one for excersize consultation and one for massage, I was running pain free! Through individual instruction and massage I have stayed that way for the past 6 months and feel great. Peggy has also helped me with alignment in general: I use her suggestions in my daily activities, which has helped eliminate various aches and pains. I am so grateful for her knowledge and experience.

To recover from a broken back, from which I was in a neck to hip brace for over 100 days, I had years of pt in the water and on land as well as a trainer at a gym. Since moving to RI, my daughter talked me into seeing Peggy for help. Although I am a long way from a Pilates class, Peggy has worked on getting my core strengthened and aligned. I am stronger, have better balance and am able to stand more erect. Peggy is endlessly patient and kind and I always leave feeling better.

Each time I leave the studio,I am relaxed, informed, strong, and energized,ie.: a new woman very often feeling like a "wonder woman".

I like to say "Pilates" is my job. I have worked up to 3-4 classes per week through the years because I have the free time, because the studio offers variety from private classes to group classes, and because of the way I feel from it.
It's hard to describe because this feeling is from within deep in my muscles, deep in my core. The matte classes have built my core- develops shoulder strength, arm stength, ab strength. In the barre classes I utilize this strength to complete routine, not to mention cardio. Am I huffing and puffing? Yes! Am I strenghtening and toning my hips and legs? Yes! Am I exercising my mind ? Yes! The stability ball class challenges me in other ways maintaining balance and core strength.Lastly comes the strength training class ( the newest) which focuses on specific groups of muscles. That is some class! My body has never felt stronger.

What places Body Dynamics on top is the persoanal attention one receives in a very pleasant atmosphere. Peggy, Amy, and Lisa instruct, model, educate, and motivate during their classes respectively. That's what Ilove about it! If I'm not having proper form, I'm corrected. If I have a question about the technique or position, it is addressed. If there's an ache or stretching is needed, issues are addressed for the individuals and modifications are made with thought, knowledge, and care.

At Body Dynamics, one is instruced by a great team of three professionals ,with individual styles, all very knowledgeable about the body(bone, core and how all work together) and all deeply involved in the well being, health, and fitness of themselves and their patrons. You'll understand what you're doing and why you're doing it as well as the benefits from it.

Once you start, you'll never want to stop. Pilates may even end up being your job! Not a bad one, I'd say,and rewarding at that!

I began taking Pilates with Peggy two years ago at the urging of a good friend. As an avid runner, I needed to add a new dimension to my exercise routine. Within the first year of taking 2 classes per week, I found that not only had my core strength vastly improved, but I had also stretched my spine, increasing my height by an inch! Pilates also gave me the strength and confidence to complete my first half marathon. This summer, while climbing and maneuvering through/over/around caves with my children and husband at the top of Loon Mountain in New Hampshire, a man remarked to me, "Wow! You're really good at this! You must be a rock climber." I immediately replied, "No, but I am very faithful to Pilates!" Great classes, knowledgeable instructors, and an incredible group of students has made it easy for me to stick with Pilates at Body Dynamics and improve my physical and mental health in the process!

I have been doing pilates with Peggy and Amy for about two years, and it has changed my body in wonderful ways. I first met Peggy in her role as a muscular therapist, as she addressed some chronic shoulder pain I was having. She suggested I give the pilates mat class a try and I'm so glad that I did. I haven't looked back since. I now attend at least two classes a week, and when I am forced to skip a week, my body really misses it. Not only is my shoulder and back pain greatly reduced, I am stronger, more flexible, and more balanced (in body and mind). I've also discovered that weekly pilates improves my performance and enjoyment of other physical activities, such as running and biking. The students who return to Body Dynamics week after week--and year after year--do so because Peggy and Amy are incredible teachers. They offer individualized attention and knowledge that you won't find anywhere else.

I first started taking Pilates several years ago and for two years attended mat classes twice a week. Pilates made me more coordinated and taller--I grew/stretched one full inch! Then I stopped Pilates to accommodate my son's afterschool schedule. I don't ever regret having that time with my son but I did miss Pilates and two years ago I rejoined Body Dynamics. Peggy's classes have made me stronger and more coordinated and I'm working on improving my balance. It's also brought me a new circle of friends who are all, like me, fans of Peggy and Body Dynamics.

It was almost 12 years ago when I came to Body Dynamics and met Peggy. After my first Pilates mat class I was hooked. First I found my abs, then I found I breath, then I found my alignment, then I found my mobility, my confidence, my passion, my strength, my focus, my mentor, my friends, and my eventual career. It would not be an exaggeration to say that my this studio changed my life. I am so grateful!
